A Step Towards Saving Lives: Surajya Nirman Pratishthan Foundation Collects 174 Units of Blood at Mantralaya
Mumbai, March 18, 2026: In a meaningful initiative aimed at supporting patients in urgent need of blood, Surajya Nirman Pratishthan Foundation organized a blood donation camp at Mantralaya, Mumbai, on March 18, 2026. The drive received an overwhelming response from people across different sections of society, resulting in the collection of 174 units of blood, including Cryo, Platelets and Plasma.
The camp was organized in collaboration with the Sir J. J. Mahanagar Blood Centre, managed by the State Blood Transfusion Council (SBTC). The initiative was undertaken with the objective of contributing to the availability of blood and ensuring that patients do not have to face delays in receiving this vital resource.
The blood donation drive brought together citizens, young volunteers, social activists, government officials, political representatives, police personnel and distinguished guests, who came forward to contribute to the cause. The enthusiastic participation reflected a strong sense of community responsibility and the willingness to help save lives.
The camp was conducted under the supervision of experienced doctors and trained medical personnel. All donors underwent the necessary health screening, while the entire donation process was carried out following appropriate medical and safety protocols.
The Foundation acknowledged the valuable support provided by Ms. Neeta Dange, representing the Sir J. J. Mahanagar Blood Centre under SBTC, whose assistance contributed to the successful conduct of the camp.
Speaking at the event, Founder-President Suraj Suresh Kute said:
“Every unit of blood collected today represents hope for someone fighting for life. Blood donation is one of the simplest ways in which an individual can make a profound difference to another person’s life. Our aim is not merely to organize a camp, but to create a culture where regular blood donation becomes a collective social responsibility. That is the spirit of ‘Surajya’—a society where people stand together for one another.”
The event was attended by Suraj Kute, Bhupesh Sawant and Sanket Bobde, along with Dr. Christine Swaminathan (President, HWARF), Dr. Smita Gaikwad, Dr. Babina Shaikh, Raizen Swaminathan, Jayesh Oswal, Mohan Vaidande, Vinod Vaidande, Santosh Bhoite, Adv. Vandana Jadhav, and several other dignitaries.
Adding further significance to the initiative, officials from Mantralaya also came forward to donate blood, encouraging greater public participation in voluntary blood donation and setting an example of social responsibility.
Surajya Nirman Pratishthan Foundation has been actively undertaking initiatives in the areas of health, education and public welfare, with a broader vision of creating a socially responsible and compassionate society. The Foundation stated that such initiatives are an important part of its journey towards building “Surajya” through service, unity and collective participation.
The Foundation expressed its sincere gratitude to every blood donor, medical professional, volunteer, supporting organization and dignitary who contributed to making the initiative successful.
“One drop of your blood can give someone a new life.”
